Warning

laserMarking Caution: invisible laser radiation!

The device emits invisible laser radiation of laser class 1M.

Do not look at the laser source with optical instruments.

Using the device in areas with optical instruments might cause eye injuries by collimated laser radiation.

Warning

Do not use the device when it is opened or damaged.

Exposure Time Limitations

The camera light source and driver has no duty cycle limitation, but the laser diode is required to be kept at constant temperature. This is accomplished by heating the laser to a fixed temperature of 50 °C. Operating the camera in hot or very cold environments at high duty cycle for some time will make the laser leave its operating temperature and decrease laser output power and calibration accuracy. As the device returns to normal conditions the laser power and calibration accuracy will be restored.

High temperature operation

Operating the camera at high temperatures with high duty cycle will make the laser leave its operating temperature: even though the laser heater is turned off the laser might become hotter than its operating temperature. Attach the camera to a larger metal structure for better heat dissipation in order to keep the laser at its operating temperature.

Low temperature operation

Operating the camera at low temperatures with low duty cycle and strong heat dissipation via its fixation will make the laser leave its operating temperature: even though the laser heater is running at full power the laser might not reach its operating temperature. Thermally isolate the camera from the fixation structure to reduce heat dissipation and allow the laser heater to keep the laser’s operating temperature.
