  • The above humidity limits apply to operation and storage of the camera.

  • X series projection modules have an additional internal over temperature protection described in Illumination X30/X36. When operating X or XR series cameras with high duty cycle and hot environment it is recommended to attach the projection module to a metal structure for improved heat dissipation.

  • S series illumination duty cycle might decrease to 10% when operated at high ambient temperature. Please also refer to Illumination S10 for ambient temperature effects on the laser source.

Calibration Stability

Temperature changes inevitably cause slight deformations of the camera housing and its internal components. The approximate measurement deviations under temperature changes is quantified as follows:

Relative Z-coordinate deviation (varies with operating distance)

≤ 5e-5 / °C at 1400mm distance (≤ 2.5e-5 / °C at 300mm distance)

Angular X deviation

≤ 2e-5 rad / °C

Angular Y deviation

≤ 5e-5 rad / °C

Let’s assume you are operating your camera at approximately 300mm distance. The deviations you should expect under an ambient temperature change of 10°C are approximately:

  • Z-deviation: ≤ 2.5e-5/°C * 300mm * 10°C = 0.075mm

  • X-deviation: ≤ 300mm * tan(2e-5/°C * 10°C) = 0.075mm

  • Y-deviation: ≤ 300mm * tan(5e-5/°C * 10°C) = 0.150mm
