Firewall Configuration

Communication with devices is usually established from the NxLib and allowed automatically by personal firewalls. If you have a more complicated network setup you might have to allow the some traffic depending on the specific type of camera.

GigE Vision

GigE Vision based cameras use the standardized GigE Vision protocol.

• Discovery and network configuration:

  • UDP broadcasts to device port 3956

  • Zeroconf/DNS-SD queries for the service _gvcp._udp.local, which use Multicast DNS (mDNS) broadcasts to multicast IP 224.0.0.251 and port 5353

• Communication: UDP with device port 3956 and device-specific additional ports for further control channels and image transmission

X-Series Projector

• Discovery and network configuration: UDP broadcasts to device port 24100

• Communication: TCP with device port 24100

XR-Series Devices

• Discovery and network configuration: UDP broadcasts to device port 24000

• Communication: TCP with device port 24000
